Being on a ship or a plane is no longer an excuse for losing connectivity. And when you’re on the move, bad weather poses a unique challenge. One of our customers uses KenCast to ensure the timely and efficient delivery of important content to more than 1,000 ships at sea – the first time it’s sent, in good or bad weather – saving them millions of dollars.
Since the early 2000s, KenCast has been delivering secure and reliable digital content to hundreds of ships at sea. Ships are often moving in and out of low-bandwidth and weak signal areas, which can result in missing or corrupted content. Our Fazzt Forward Error Correction (FEC) uses algorithms to restore flawed deliveries to their original form by replacing missing packets, fixing corrupted packets and reordering those that arrived out of sequence, with no need to retransmit content.
With KenCast’s solution, unused bandwidth is repurposed within the network, resulting in a much lower cost to the distributor. KenCast’s mobile solution fits seamlessly into any existing terrestrial or satellite network and includes beam switching capabilities. This technology can also be used to deliver digital content to airplanes, trains, buses and trucks. When you add our Professional 2K Decoder, you can also stream live content that is free of artifacts, pauses and distortion.
