Director of Operations

Job Description:

Norwalk, CT based technology company seeks an operations Director to help oversee and manage operations for the company.  These activities include:

  • Direct a staff of two
  • Implement operational best practices and processes across organization
  • Provide analysis and costs of operational requirements for new business opportunities
  • Ensure that global operations stay within budgets and timelines
  • Manage existing relationships with current technology vendors and partners, and explore new relationships to consistently drive down price and improve quality, service and lead times
  • Own worldwide logistics for the manufacture and delivery of appliances and components, including monitoring inventory levels, tracking changes to BOMs, importation into foreign countries, etc.
  • Responsible for regulatory compliance for appliances and completing necessary documentation such as commercial invoices, customs forms, etc.
  • Author and review customer and vendor agreements, including SLAs
  • Manage field stocking depots and RMA processes for our customers worldwide
  • Oversee corporate office CRM and IT software and hardware

Desired Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree, MBA a plus
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in relevant area
  • Strong financial modeling skills with Excel
  • Effective communication skills interfacing with customers and vendors, as well as sales, marketing, finance, engineering and legal peers at all management levels
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills
  • Experience with project management and use of MS Project
  • Knowledge of satellite systems is a plus

Systems Engineer

 Position Summary:

KenCast is looking for experienced Systems Engineers to join our growing team of world class engineers and developers.  As a Systems Engineer you will be working on a wide array of tasks ranging from researching and validating new technologies, presenting KenCast solutions to customers worldwide, as well as providing level II/III support to our enterprise customers.  To thrive at this position you should possess strong communications, multitasking and planning skills as the job includes problem solving and communicating with clients.

 Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide level II/III support to our enterprise customers onsite and remotely
  • Implement and design KenCast solutions within customer network
  • Be an active part of network & product design
  • Create and maintain detailed infrastructure documentation
  • Research new tools and technologies
  • Implement and operate secure infrastructure for critical applications
  • Act as project manager in areas of expertise
  • Some travel required to customer site for pre- and post sales support

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in a Systems Engineering or similar role
  • M.S. or B.S degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or similar
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Proven ability to succeed in a dynamic team-oriented environment
  • Experience with Windows/Linux/Android operating systems
  • Experience with TCP/IP and common network protocols
  • Experience with virtualization environments
  • Proficiency in a scripting language like Bash or Python

Preferred:

  • Proficiency in Spanish or other languages a plus

TECHNICAL SUPPORT ENGINEER

Reporting to: V.P. of Engineering

Position Summary

We are looking for a talented Technical Support Engineer to provide enterprise level technical support to our customers via phone, email, and on-site visits. Strong communications, multitasking and planning skills are also required, as the job includes problem solving and communicating with our prestigious roster of clients. Primary Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of reported customer issues and see problems through to resolution
  • Research, diagnose, troubleshoot and identify solutions to resolve customer issues
  • Follow standard procedures for proper escalation of unresolved issues to the appropriate internal teams
  • Provide prompt and accurate feedback to customers
  • Ensure proper recording and closure of all issues
  • Document knowledge in the form of knowledge base tech notes and articles
  • Research new tools and technologies

Basic Qualifications

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or similar
  • Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems
  • Knowledge of networking concepts
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Good communication skills

Preferred

  • Proficiency in Spanish a strong plus
  • Knowledge of a scripting language
